Once an item is recognised, the four main actions appear as big touch buttons: Loan (opens the borrower flow), Return (from an active loan), Transfer (location change), Edit (record read/write). Zero return to the main nav — the on-site team stays in the scanner view.

The scanner installs straight onto iPhone and Android like an app, no App Store detour — an icon appears on the home screen. When connectivity drops (isolated warehouse, moving truck, trade show), scans are kept on the phone, then synced automatically when you come back online. The rare conflicts are resolved by keeping the latest change and notifying you.
